An old widower sits alone on Christmas Day waiting for a special guest to arrive.  But a series of unexpected visitors bring a marvelous surprise.   Based on Leo Tolstoi’s heartwarming tale of generosity and love, the fine singers of Second Act Light Opera bring these characters to life through music and drama.  Come share a special evening with us at the recently opened After School Conservatory in Woodland Hills as we enter the spirit of Christmas with the joy of music.  

 

Jiye Hayden is the founder/CEO of After School Conservatory. She is a South Korea-born pianist, vocalist and music instructor based in the greater Los Angeles area.

 

Dana Lewis Howell is a composer originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He holds degrees in composition (PhD - UCLA, MM - San Francisco Conservatory and BFA - Carnegie Mellon University) and serves as Music Director at St. John Eudes Church in Chatsworth and is the founding director of Second Act Light Opera.

 

The cast includes local opera star Sarah Salazar (Glendale Opera, Valley Opera and Performing Arts, Vedi Chorus, Pacific Opera Project and LA Symphonic Winds), Bruce Goldes and Will Lyons as well as a chorus of children from area schools.
